Matthew Adekunle Medupin Celebrates Successful 6th Solo Art Exhibition, Memoir Launch and 76th Birthday in London, United Kingdom – 9 May 2026

The Upper Hall of St William of York, Roman Catholic Church , Forest Hill in London UK came alive on Friday, 9 May 2026, a Nigerian born UK artist and author Matthew Adekunle Medupin hosted his 6th Solo Art Exhibition alongside the official launch of his memoir, Grace and Resilience. The occasion also coincided with the celebration of his 76th birthday, making it a truly memorable and inspiring event.

The exhibition attracted a large gathering of art lovers, friends, supporters, and distinguished guests from different walks of life, all united in celebrating a remarkable journey of creativity, resilience, and service to humanity.

The event commenced at 12 noon with guests viewing a diverse and captivating collection of artworks that reflected Medupin’s artistic vision and life experiences. A special book reading from Grace and Resilience was later held, followed by an engaging Questions and Answers session at 3pm, during which the hall reached full capacity.

One of the highlights of the day was the overwhelming response to the memoir, as guests formed long queues to purchase signed copies and receive personal autographs from the author.

Speaking after the event, Matthew Adekunle Medupin expressed profound gratitude to everyone who attended and supported the exhibition and book launch.
“I am deeply humbled by the overwhelming love, generosity, and encouragement shown to me throughout this event. The success of the exhibition and memoir launch is a testament to the power of community, friendship, and shared purpose. I remain sincerely grateful to all who contributed to making the occasion such a memorable milestone in my life journey.”

Medupin further announced that all proceeds from the sales of his memoir will go towards supporting individuals living with sickle-cell disorder, as well as widows and orphans in Ogidi-Ela, through the work of the Matthew Adekunle Medupin Foundation.

In addition, proceeds from the sale of artworks will contribute towards the establishment and long-term sustainability of the Foundation, which is committed to touching lives through charitable and community-focused initiatives.

The celebration concluded with a special toast in honour of Medupin’s 76th birthday, bringing an unforgettable day of art, literature, philanthropy, and celebration to a joyful close.
