In "The Threshold of Light, a lone figure stands at the edge of a radiant path, where darkness meets brilliance and the unknown opens into possibility. The glowing doorway is not merely an end but a beginning, a passage to what lies beyond our fear, beyond our doubt, beyond human limitations and beyond the weight of yesterday. The painting speaks of courage, of pausing at life’s turning points, and of the quiet strength it takes to boldly step forward when the future is unseen. The shadows remind us of where we’ve been, while the light beckons us toward where we are meant to go. It is a journey of hope, of faith, and of embracing the mystery of transformation, walking confidently toward the threshold of light.

Medium: Acrylic on canvas board Size: 16" x 20" Year: 2025 This painting is a visual metaphor inspired by the Yoruba proverb, "If you wait for the road to be safe, you will never arrive." It explores the tension between fear and courage, warning and willpower, and the ever-present reality of uncertainty on the road to fulfillment. The central figure at the bottom of the painting, cloaked in red and labeled “Determined,” walks toward an intimidating ascent where danger is boldly signposted. Above her looms a giant, symbolic guardian, part protector, part deterrent, watching with a mix of solemnity and power. The path she treads is fiery and treacherous, suggesting that ambition often means walking through difficulty, not around it. To the left, shadows of hesitant onlookers gather behind warning signs, content to remain within the illusion of safety. The stormy sky and the erupting sun evoke a world where nature itself seems to challenge or test one...

This evocative painting captures a journey through a vast, shadowy landscape under a glowing, coppery-orange sky that hints at either dawn or dusk. A narrow, earthy path stretches from the foreground and winds toward a small, distant structure with a glowing yellow light—suggesting hope, sanctuary, or purpose. To the left, a mysterious, luminous yellow patch breaks through the darkness, possibly a field or a symbolic force of life and energy. The layered sky shifts from pale blue to warm ochre, creating a dreamy, surreal atmosphere. The overall composition invites viewers to reflect on life's journey—uncertain, winding, yet always leading toward some distant light of meaning. The contrast between the dark terrain and the soft, beckoning horizon evokes resilience, transition, and the enduring power of hope.

Title: Life Is a Proverb Medium: Acrylic on canvas Size: 24" x 18" Artist: Matthew Medupin This abstract composition draws from the proverb-inspired reflection that while we share a common existence, our destinies unfold differently . Using spontaneous brushwork, layered textures, and contrasting tones, the artist invites viewers to consider life as a proverb — open to interpretation, full of hidden meanings, and shaped by individual experience. Each line is a path, each colour a life, and each space a silence between stories. No two journeys are the same — yet they all belong to the human tale.

Echoes of Fire and Ash An Artistic Reflection on My Life’s Resilience Life has a way of testing us—not once, not twice, but in waves that rise unexpectedly, sometimes violently, like fire leaping into the calm of the day. "Echoes of Fire and Ash" is not just a painting; it is a mirror of my soul, layered with memories of pain, determination, and growth. The fierce red tones in the composition symbolise the heat of personal trials—moments when I was scorched by disappointment, loss, or uncertainty. The deep blacks speak to the shadows I’ve walked through, times when clarity seemed distant and hope, elusive. Yet, amid the storm of colours, there is white—bold and persistent. These patches are not merely spaces of relief; they are the rebirth, the light of regained strength, of wisdom earned, and of emerging anew. Like ashes that follow fire, they may appear fragile, but they speak of what has endured. Ove...
